- Background
This wine has long been a favourite of Somerled clients and sits just in between our pinot noir and shiraz.
- Vineyard Notes
Charleston, Adelaide Hills vineyard owned by Kim Anderson. Temp fruit comes from a high breezy ridge bringing the grapes to perfect, even ripening. This was an excellent quality but low yield vintage all round.
- Winemaking
24 months in well-matured French oak barrels. Underwent a rack and return around half a dozen times over that period, giving the wine excellent structure, roundness, complexity and secondary aroma.
- Tasting Notes
Medium to full bodied wine with great warmth and roundness. Savoury with very enticing hints of blackcurrant.
- Style
European mid weight.
- Colour
Dark with ruby tints.
- Bouquet
Savoury with blackcurrant elements.
- Palate
Warm, round and savoury.
- Peak Drinking / Cellaring Potential
- Food Matches
Homemade pasta dripping with parmesan and great olive oil.
