Heather's Story
Heather's special touch is all around the cellar bar!
This particularly comes down to the menu items - many of which she not only devised, but handmakes for our guests every day!
Choose from her warmed, umami-filled anchovy sticks (melt in the mouth pastries - her own recipe), or her warmed crispy gluten-free cheese puffs (recipe devised by dear friend Rilka Warbanoff) and the oozy croques monsieur (French toasted sandwiches - this recipe devised by Lu, after having visited a similar gorgeous bar in New York with her sister - and now made by not only Heather but the winemaker himself too!)
As you can see, there's a lot of beautiful food & wine in this family and Somerled Cellar Bar is the vehicle for sharing it with as many of you as they can!
Heather was a passionate high school French teacher for most of her career, and worked as an editor at Inspirations Magazine.
She was a bit of a star in the 70s in the papers and on morning television when - little known fact - she started up Send-A-Basket with her sister Annie and mother Barb. Beautiful baskets were delivered with their hand-made pate, breadsticks and tiny champagne bottles with straws. Ahead of her time - yet again!
