SOMERLED WINES

Somerled is a super-premium range of wines made by former Penfolds winemaker Rob Moody.

The emphasis is on iconic Adelaide Hills varieties – pinot noir (blanc de noir, traditional method), sauvignon blanc (including a fumé blanc), chardonnay (full malo-lactic fermentation) and cabernet sauvignon – while a full-bodied rich shiraz from the owners’ Kangaroo Island vineyard is testament to the Penfolds background.

Somerled is the name of the racehorse that Rob’s grandfather rode to victory at the Adelaide Hills Oakbank Picnic Race Meet in 1908!
